Honours Programs

 

As part of Plant Energy Biology's ongoing commitment to taking leading role in training the next generation of plant scientists. We actively recruit the top Honours students to our centre.

 

 

Honours Scholarships

A new booklet of Honours projects available in 2012 at the UWA node of the Centre can be downloaded here.

ARC Centre of Excellence, Plant Energy Biology scholarships are a recognition of excellence in students, and are designed to help students focus on their project without the need to find external paid work.

 

Students must be enrolled at UWA.

Applications for our honours scholarships will be assessed individually, and the value will be to the level of the Australian Goverment tax-free threshold (Currently $6,000).

TO ASCERTAIN YOUR INTEREST: What area of research appeals to you? Check the research interests of our Perth Chief Investigators (Small, Whelan, Millar and Smith) under About Us -> Chief Investigators on this website (link).

 

TO ASCERTAIN YOUR SUITABILITY: Contact the Investigator of your choice (email detail below) and discuss the possibilities with him. Should you proceed, you will need to have them agree to be named on your scholarship application.

Now you have the emailed support above, in order to actually apply, you need to ENROL with The University of Western Australia as follows:

• Go to this link http://www.studyat.uwa.edu.au/undergrad/international/honours and follow the instructions according to whether you are already a UWA student, other Australian student, or International Student.
• If you are already a UWA student, you can follow the instructions to enroll on-line.
• PLEASE PRINT the "receipt" page that appears when you have submitted, and
• Attach a copy of that print out to our Centre scholarship application.

Here's two tips to remember the rest of your life...

• Whatever you apply for, ALWAYS keep a copy for yourself... AND
• If you take advice from someone over the phone or in person, NOTE their name to quote if needed later on!
