The Centre of Excellence is housed in the new $65M Molecular and Chemical Sciences Building at the UWA campus on the shores of the Swan River.

The Centre has modern molecular science laboratories and offices.

Controlled environment facilities for plant growth include four growth rooms with 140 square meters of growing area with different day lengths.
We also have numerous controlled environment cabinets, and access to containment greenhouses.

For cell biology research we have an Olympus BX2-series fluorescence microscope with Cell-R imaging software. This allows us to image organelles including peroxisomes and mitochondria using Green or Red fluorescent proteins (GFP, RFP).

Metabolomics research is supported by a comprehensive Machine Park.

Transcriptome analysis is supported by a complete Affymetrix microarray system and real time RT-PCR machines.
