Never before has plant energy biology been so important, as world energy resources dry up and our food supplies fail to match growing populations.
Plant Energy Biology has several types of scholarships available for students undertaking projects in the centre's research programs. Availability of these is dependent on the project chosen and its supervision.
These scholarships are in recognition of excellence in students, and are designed to help you focus on your project without the need to find external paid work. They are designed to provide a supplementary income to students' primary scholarship incomes for PhD and MSc and to provide a small income for Honours students.

Grains Research and Development Scholarships (University of Adelaide)
The ARC Centre of Excellence in Plant Energy Biology (PEB) at The University of Adelaide is seeking PhD project applications from highly qualified and motivated students with a strong background in molecular biology and/or plant physiology. Two PhD projects are available. The projects are embedded within a program that will provide mentorship and opportunities for the students to engage with a wide range of research organisations, as well as exposure to the Australian grains industry. Prospective students should have a keen interest in working with stakeholders in the agricultural industry. The projects are supported by the Grains Research & Development Corporation (GRDC), which will provide PhD stipend ($25k p.a.) and research funding for each project.

Jan Anderson PhD Scholarships (Australian National University)
ANU PEB is seeking applications from highly qualified and motivated candidates for PhD programs which enhance plant energy efficiency by simultaneously optimising energy capture, conversion and use in changing environments to improve the sustainable productivity of plants, through addressing one or more of the following centre programs: (1) Tuning energy systems as better environmental sensors for rapid response and resilience; (2) Improving the efficiency and function of 'gatekeeper' cells that control whole-plant performance; (3) Identifying epigenetic marks and gene variants to optimise energy use across variable environments.
Students who are unsuccessful in applying for the Jan Anderson HDR Supplementary Scholarship will be automatically considered for a general PEB Postgraduate Scholarship.
Warwick Hillier Honours Scholarships (Australian National University)
ANU is seeking applications from motivated candidates for Honours programs. PEB invests heavily in research training at all levels, and we would like to invite applicants to consider carrying out Honours research training within PEB. ANU offers a unique research experience that will allow students to develop scientific and professional skills to be successful.
Students who are unsuccessful in applying for the Warwick Hillier Honours Scholarship will be automatically considered for a general PEB Honours Scholarship.
AGRIBO International Graduate Program (La Trobe University)
The Centre for AgriBioscience (AgriBio) represent a 300 million dollar investment that brings together government, university and biotech companies in one environment to develop and drive innovative research in agricultural science, to maintain and increase agricultural production to meet the increasing demands for food with a growing world population. As part of its commitment to AgriBio, La Trobe University has established a Graduate research program in AgriBioscience. In addition to the normal research training that is obtained during graduate research studies, the program will provide students with skills that will equip them to work in a variety of employment environments once completed.
